Agricultural Research Institutions under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) 

Presently 19% posts of Agricultural Scientists in different ICAR Institutes are vacant. The R&D programmes in these institutions are being managed through judicious re-deployment of available scientific manpower. State Agricultural Universities State Agricultural Universities are under the administrative control of concerned State Government and Central Government has no intervention. However, as per the report of the Institute of Applied Manpower Research (IAMR), Report No.1/2012 on Human Capital Requirements in Agriculture and Allied sectors carried out by the National Academy of Agricultural Research & Management (NAARM), Hyderabad, about 40% of the faculty positions in the agricultural universities have remained vacant for long periods of time. As per the above mentioned report, the sanctioned and vacant positions of faculty in different major disciplines of agricultural sciences in different State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), State-wise is annexed (Annexure-III).
