Subject: Rationalisation of Casualty pensionary awards for the armed Forces Officers/PBOR and the NOK- payment of additional quantum of pension to old pensioners/ family pensioner of 80 years and above of age consequent on implementation of recommendation of 6th Central Pay commission.
Reference: This Office Circular No. 397 dated 18.11.2008, Circular No. 400 dated 05.12.2008, Circular No. 417 dated 02.09.2009, Circular No. 441 dated 01.10.2010 and Circular No. 470 dated 27.09.2011.
PDAs are aware that as per this office Circular cited under reference, payment of additional quantum of pension to old pensioners/ family pensioner of 80 years and above is to be made consequent on implementation of recommendation of 6th Central Pay commission.
2. It has been clarified that the quantum of additional pension applicable to old pensioners/ family pensioners of 80 years and above shall also be payable to Pre-2006 & Post-2006 in receipt of War Injury Pension/ Disability Pension/ Liberalized Family Pension/ Special Family Pension. A copy of GOI, MOD letter No. dated 31.08.2010 on the above subject is enclosed herewith which is self explanatory.
3. All other conditions remain the same as described in this office Circular No. 417 dated 02.09.2009, Circular No. 441 dated 01.10.2010 and Circular No. 470 dated 27.09.2011.

Subject: -Rationalization of Casualty Pensionary Awards for the Armed Forces Officers/PBOR and their NOK — payment of additional quantum of pension to old pensioners/family pensioners of 80 years and above of age consequent on implementation of recommendation of Oh Central Pay Commission.

I am directed to refer to this Ministry’s letter No. 16(6)/2008(1)/D(Pension/Policy) dated 04th May, 2009 and 16(6)/2008(2)/D(Pension/Policy) dated 05th May 2009 implementing recommendations of 6th Central Pay Commission in respect of Armed Forces Pensioners in receipt of War Injury Pension/Disability Pension/Liberalized Family Pension/Special Family Pension/Invalid Pension. The President is pleased to decide that the quantum of additional pension payable to old pensioners/family pensioners as per the rates notified in Para 12 of Government letter No. 17(4)/2008(1)/D(Pen/Policy) dated 11th November 2008 in respect of pre 2006 pensioners and para 10 of Government letter No. 17(4)/2008/(2)/D(Pen/Policy) dated 12th November 2008 in respect of pensioners who retired on or after .01.01.2006 shall also be applicable to old pensioners/family pensioners of 80 years and above in receipt of War Injury Pension/Disability Pension/Liberalized Family Pension/Special Family Pension.
2. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Division of this Ministry vide No.2478/D (Fin/Pen) dated 19.8.2010.
