Govt is giving Rs 500 per month towards medical expenses and that amount is being included in arriving at total income .Generally senior citizens will have some problem or other and take medical treatment from nearest doctor instead of going to the nominated doctor.Further most of Govt Hospitals do not entertain senior citizens as a special case and they cannot wait longer time .Govt should therefore give some amount of exemption for medical treatment for deduction of such expenses born by them for the arrival of taxable income. The decease may not be cancer etc etc.
