7th Pay Commission: No revised pay yet for military personnel – The Hindu

The seventh Pay Commission recommendations will be reflected in this month’s salary for central government employees that would be remitted on Wednesday, but not for the military personnel.
According to military sources, their new salaries are yet to be notified as the notification implementing the Seventh Pay Commission has not yet been issued by the Defence Ministry.
This is because the three service chiefs have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar seeking their intervention to fix the anomalies expressed by the military which remain unaddressed despite several representations to the empowered committee and assurances from Mr. Parrikar.

The key demands of the services include Non Functional Upgrade, NFU pay fixation, Military Service Pay (MSP) and common pay matrix for civil and military.

The three service chiefs written to PM and Def Min only pertains to service persons. Why the Govt has withhold the 7th CPC benefits of ex-servicemen. Please implement hike in pension as per 7th CPC and arrears till date will be paid before diwali.

How long this approval takes time even for publishing comments

what/why is the delay in issuing notification for implementation revised pension for exsericemen. The ex servicemen ought to have been given prefernce over civilian pensioners whereas they are neglected. I has demoralisation effect.Concerned Ministries must under stand and act needful.

How many raised points are in favour of PBORs? Where is the respect of the oaths taken on the name of constitution? Thanks God, we have a civilian government. I request to PM sir, please discard all the colonial rules and more involvement of civilian officers on the defence matters. I have seen three pay commissions and every successive pay commissions have degraded the status of the PBORs. I can’t hope anything from this pay commission also. Ultimately the PBORs are not going to get anything. The demand for increase of MSP for the JCOs is an afterthought. Well calculated move. If out of ten demands this demand is not accepted by the government, the rest nine demands will benefit only a particular community.
I have full faith on our PM and DM sir and also on all the bureaucrats. Please implement the 7th pay commission for the poor veterans as early as possible. We are in dire need of money to run our family as we get very very less pension and few thousands rupees as arrears will be always beneficial for us.
    Jai Hind.
    A poor veteran (PBOR)
N.B: I also request the electronic media, don’t always write articles for the officers. Think for the poor PBORs and write some articles for them also. You will get more respect and the poor veterans will talk about you. Straighten your backbone and be impartial always and every time.

Who are actually soldiers? It is the PBORs who actually retire in the age of 37 to 42 years. How many officers retire in that age group? Why no one talks for the PBORs? They are not citizens of this country? I have full faith on our PM and DM sir. Sir, please implement the 7th pay commission as early as possible. The poor veterans need money to run their families. Holding their pension means more loss to them. They will never get anything unless the colonial mindsets are discarded.

  • It is a fact that the army called "fouji" is remembered and respected only during war by general public, politicians and those who are sitting in the offices in South and North Block. They know that they are the persons to take the bullet aimed at to these people. After the war everywhere the soldiers are treated as third class citizens. That is my personnel experience in my real life during 1965 and 1971 war and as an ESM Subedar Major. Even the civilian around me is not aware that for their peaceful night sleep is some jawan is guarding the sleepless night in the disturbed border of our mother land.

the three chiefs unanimous stop the pay and arrears of pbor while there is no point for them.let them take taste of what is given .may god bless all the three good thinking.

All bull chit has been done…

Any body knows when we will get the dues…

  • No one is there to hear the hue and cry of PBOR. Ex Servicemen have to wait like hungry dog, to see when it's master throws a piece of bone.

  • There is not a single point for jawans in the anomalies projected by three chiefs in 7cpc. The jawans are neglected because nobody is there to raise there voice and identify there plight.

What about BSF which is India's first line of defence…. bt nobody cares about bsf neither govt nor ppl… BSF is the armed force of the union bt pay Commission put it into civil force .. what a joke,,,,

    • yes. very strange. BSF should not be kept at par with civilian. their pay and pension should have been higher than civilian if not equal to army.

Non implementationn of revised pension was not expected from Modi Government, is it that the Finance Minister desired to implement through collection of tax on black money.Even that is done, what he is waiting for. Shame on this attitude.Defence has proved its worth for special not neglected treatment over over again, the latest being Surgical strike operation across LOC in Pakistan. Why the concerned Ministry/Department is still sleeping.Reply.

The Nation remembers you only in times of war. Now its peace time buddy. Who cares about you.

  • The civilian employs in Defende Service are paid der pay n pension as per 7th CPC but soldiers and ex-serviceman are not considered by Defence Ministry cause they don't belong to any union to get backing and support. Now it is high time to consider to form a soldiers association so as to bargain their legitimate rights from the Central Govt.

  • The fact is, nobody cares for the armed forces in India. They are only remembered in the times of crises.

  • KRISHNANKUTTY KUTTY 8 years ago

NOBODY IS GOING TO HEAR YOUR VOICE. KEEP SILENT. WE CANNOT AGITATE. WHENEVEN THEY GIVES ACCEPT IT WITH SMILE.

  • Govt should declare when will they implement pay commission for the soldiers?

  • All are equal for certain things but not for everything. If someone does not know the difference of about what is talked about!!!! Delay does not mean you will not get anything. Everybody will get rightful dues.

  • raveendran pillai 8 years ago

why there is difference between offrs and pbors. All are waring uniform and doing Military service. The MSP should be same for all.

  • If it was for POLITICIANS, then immediately Hikes are done. We are just nothing for them.

  • Bull shit. No body is fighting for jawan . just they need prop for jcos . divide and rule policy of officers

    • Jawan too are part of the same organisation. The serious most concern is of the jawan getting retired so early with minimum pensions. This is the most important point in the OROP battle. A jawan is the biggest loser and this should be the concern for all.

Modi govt Jo de rahi hai thik hai kya pata wo bhi Na mile bhaio bhaio achheee din agaye,……

  • The demand of defence services is NFU as given to IAS officers, MSP as per their own service conditions and pay matrix as admissible to civilians. So best of all services?

    • Anonymous 8 years ago

Please correct yourself….. NFU as per other all India Gp A services, MSP for JCOs and pay matrix as per simple mathematics i.e. without discrimination…..why so much of fuss

    • Anonymous 8 years ago

WHY DONT YOU JOIN THE ARMED FORCES SERVE IN HOSTILE TERRAIN, FACE SOME BULLETS IN INSURGENCY AND TAKE ALL THREE BENEFITS.SITTING INSIDE AC ROOMS AND COMMENTING IS EASY.

    • Anonymous 8 years ago

WHY THIS IS FOR ONLY ARMED FORCE OFFICERS WHO ARE BLESSED WITH MORE FACILITIES, COMPARED TO JAWANS. THEY ARE SEEKING STATUS UPGRADATION FOR THEMSELVES, WHAT ABOUT PBORS WHO ARE BEING DEGRADED GRADUALLY IN COMPARE WITH CIVILIANS………..IS A SOLDIER (PBOR & JCO) 4TH GRADE EMPLOYEE, NATION IS SHOWING RESPECT BY WORDS ONLY….WILL ALL BECOME OFFICERS…
PRESENTLY IT IS A MATTER OF CONCERN THAT JAWANS ARE BEING RECRUITED AT THE AGE OF 17-21 WHERE THEY MIGHT BE OF BRIGHT FUTURE BUT CHOOSE ARMED FORCES WHERE THEY SERVE FOR NATION ALSO SACRIFICE THEIR FURTHER LIFE WITH A TAG OF CLASS C EMPLOYEE, THEY ARE NOT BEING UPGRADED SINCE THEY SPEND THEIR LIFE UPTO 25 YEARS….
ONE WHO IS INSIDE ARMED FORCES ONLY CAN KNOW WHAT ACTUALLY FACILITIES ARE BEING GIVEN TO JAWANS & JCOS WHO ARE REALLY ON FRONT EITHER ON FIELD OR ON WORK…… THINK OVER IT

    • Anonymous 7 years ago

After became free India from the clutches of British, the word British Army Order has changed as Indian Army Order.. The facilities for Offrs are same as per BAO. Why now a days Durrie for soldiers are called s durrie IT (Indian troops). The british has left why IT has not been removed. A ordinary graduate son of Army Offrs are becoming Officers in Indian Army..A rank Holder of Kerala is becoming ordinary soldier. NDA is a heaven for officers sons. The NDA has built by Jai Jawan Jai Kissan PM for poor people. Now the same has been utilised by sons of officers. That is Bharat.

  • Military is just a tool for those who want to drum up their patriotism; it remains the most neglected and uncared arm of the Govt

  • We are approaching deaf and dumb. They only want sacrifice from us and expect us not to demand even our due in turn.

    • Anonymous 7 years ago

Yes, you are right. An Olympian wining a medal getting 12 croes whereas a soldier taking a dozen of bullets from enemy and died, his family getting two lakhs in their begging bowls. This is the attitude of Indian bureaucrat and Government.

  • Useless as there being no representation from Retired sides so hardly any benefit for retired ESM. They should have simply multiplied by 2.57 and disposed off .

  • S singh 8 years ago

Nation should stand up to take on Govt to explain why the Defence Services are being continuously treated shoddily and step motherly in that the Defence Services Chiefs have to represent to stop implementation of 7th CPC recommendations for Defence Forces. Now this is a wake up call from Defence Forces to Govt. as well as all citizens of India to urgently address the serious malaise of this step motherly and differential treatment vis a vis Civil Services which is eroding the morale and fighting efficiency of Brave Soldiers who have always and without fail stood up for their Nation to make any sacrifices. Jai Hind.

Pay Commission must include representatives from the Armed Forces.

    • Anonymous 8 years ago

No, in that case, poor PBORs will get nothing.

  • Pension of Civ Def Employees have been credited as per 7th CPC Ordersby Banks as on 31 Aug 2016. Congrratulations.

  • Pr Controller of Def Accts(Pensions) issued Executive Orders to commence 7th CPC Scale payments for Civ Def Employees within four days of issue of orders by Fin Ministry. CGDA as if not to be left behind in their concern for its Civil Def Employees issued stern orders to start 7th CPC scales including payment of arrears even if there are No Budgetory Allotments. Giving Highest Priority to Civ Def Employees has always been the Order of the Day in Def Ministry. Surely no serving or retired militarymen admire the "Step Motherly Treatment" to Armed Forces. Govt could have ordered Adhoc Payment of arrears on Average entitlements like they did in 4th CPC. Def Minister is busy plugging Scorpion Submarine leaks, Pr Controller(Pension)Def Accts are busy fighting floods in Allahabad so Army Navy & Air Force personnel can expect the new revised pay scales not befoere NEW YEAR ???..Lt Col JRF D'Souza(Retd)
