7th CPC Pension Revision Option 1 – Mercilessly Rejected – Confederation

7th CPC Pension Revision Option 1 – Mercilessly Rejected – Confederation

MOST UNKINDEST CUT OF ALL
PENSIONER’S OPTION – 1 MERCILESSLY REJECTED
It is learnt that the Committee chaired by Secretary (Pension) has NOT recommended the Option Number – 1 recommended by 7th Central Pay Commission for fixation of pension of pre -2016 Pensioners.

Instead it has recommended extension of the benefit of pension determination recommended by 5th CPC ie ; arriving at notional pay in 7th CPC by applying formula for pay revision for serving employees in each Pay Commission revision and consequent pension fixation. Now the Implementation Cell of 7th CPC is studying the recommendations of Pension Committee for processing for submission for approval of Cabinet. Thus , the one and the only favourable recommendation of 7th CPC ie; the real parity in Pension which is also approved by Cabinet with a rider “subject to feasibility” is going to be mercilessly rejected by Government , inspite of repeated requests and demands from NJCA, Confederation and Pensioners Associations .

It is really surprising since govt. had accepted it subject to its feasibility. Moreover, Dearness Relief for autonomous organisation's pensioners has not been released yet. Sh. krishnan Ji, would you like to talk to authorities about that also.

  • Now that the Govt. acted partially to Pensions, there is no option but to go to the Court. Let us begin the ;process to go to Court as soon as the orders come.

  • this is Outcome of believing group of ministers Strike is only a remedy

Once the decision has been taken by the Govt. and accepted in principal, how the Govt. now Can take such a drastic step to reject option 1. This will be a great set back for the pensioners.
In 5th CPC, the pension was fixed on the basis of 10 months average emoluments. Thereafter in 6th CPC the benefit was given to the pensioners as 10 months average emoluments or last pay drawn which ever is beneficial to the pensioners. Now in 7th CPC the Govt. has accepted that increments earned by the pensioners during last post held by them shall be added while fixing Pension. I would request authorities not to allow Govt. to create such kind of parity among pensioners & request them to fix pension for all the past pensioners too as per the recommendation by the 7th CPC.
    Thanks & Regards
