Subject: Clarification regarding one-time relaxation to facilitate compassionate engagement as GDS to dependents of deceased Departmental Employees/GDS who lost their lives during the period from 01.01.2020 to 24.02.2025.
Sir/Madam,
Please refer to your office letter no. Rectt./M-5/120/2021/3 dated 24.07.2026 and 03.08.2026 on the subject cited above. The Circle has informed that the applicant’s case was considered by the CRC against vacancy years 2021, 2022 and 2023, but could not be recommended due to paucity of vacancies under the 5% ceiling. The Circle has sought clarification:
(i) whether the case falls within the purview of the Directorate’s OM dated 30.12.2025.
(ii) whether the cases of compassionate appointment of dependents of the deceased departmental employee which have been considered by the CRC for three times and rejected due to paucity of vacancies, will also fall within the purview of the guidelines issued through the Directorate’s letter dated 31.12.2025 pertaining to one time relaxation for compassionate appointment as GDS, or not.
2. In this regard, it is stated that the provisions contained in Para 2(i)(c) of the OM dated 30.12.2025, read with the clarification at Sl. No. 14 of Annexure-II of the said OM and Sl. No. 7 of Annexure-A (FAQ) issued vide letter No. 19-19/2024-GDS dated 23.03.2026, are self-explanatory and adequately address the issue raised by the Circle.
3. The Circle is requested to take necessary action in accordance with the provisions/clarifications referred to above.
This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
