Subject- Clarification regarding the admissibility of Children Education Facilitation Allowance (CEFA) to GDS prior to their promotion to the Departmental cadre.

Sir/Madam,

This has reference to your office letter No. SPB/13-1/366/2024 dated 18.07.2025 on the above-mentioned subject.

2. The matter has been examined. It is to inform that Children Education Facilitation Allowance (CEFA) is admissible at the rate of Rs. 6000/- per annum (fixed) per child as per this office OM dated 18.09.2019. As the official worked as GDS for the period from April to November before his appointment as MTS, he is entitled to a grant of the allowance (CEFA) proportionately for the said period. Circle is directed to take action accordingly.

3. This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
