Office Memorandum (OM), issued by the Directorate General of CGHS on March 24, 2026, provides retroactive clarifications regarding the revised package rates notified in October 2025.
Key updates include:
- Code RI134: Specifically defined as MRI (Without Contrast) for Dorsal, Dorso-Lumbar, Cervical, and Cervico-Dorsal Spine.
- Code CN003 (OPD Consultation): Clarifies that “Super Specialist” refers to practitioners with DM, MCh, DNB-SS, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the National Medical Commission.

Subject: CGHS rates applicable for treatment at healthcare organisation — Clarification — Regarding.
In reference to the Directorate’s Office Memorandum of even number dated 03.10.2025 notifying the revised CGHS package rates, representations have been received towards:
- The description for Investigation Code RI134
- Consultation charges(superspecialist) for OPD Code CN003
2. The matter has been examined, and the following clarification is provided ab initio:
- The RI134 shall read “MRI Dorsal/Dorso Lumbar Spine/Cervical/Cervico Dorsal Spine – Without Contrast”
- The text of Column 2 of Section 7 of Annexure 2 shall be read as “OPD — Super Specialist (DM/MCh/DNB -SS) or equivalent”

3. The above clarification shall be deemed to be part of the Office Memorandum dated 03.10.2025.
