7th CPC Option for Pay Fixation under CCS(RP) Rules, 2016: JCM writes to MoF for opportunity to revise the option

Option to switch over to new pay in 7th CPC was given under CCS(Revised Pay) Rules with condition that option exercised once will be final.  There are many cases where promotion/macp orders with effect from the date of before the implementation of 7th CPC and in those cases the pay fixed on promotion/macp is less due to choosing the 7th CPC option from the date of 01.01.2016.  In such affected cases the employees are waiting for orders from Ministry of Finance to revise their 7th CPC option in beneficial to them.  JCM again writes to MoF to consider the request to give the opportunity to revise the option to switch over the new pay in 7th CPC.  The text of JCM letter is reproduced below:-

Dear Sir,

We solicit your kind reference to our letter cited above. Copy of which is enclosed for your ready reference.

We had requested that the employees might be provided with another option to switch over the new pay scale in replacement of their earlier option. in view of the interpretations made by the Zonal Accounts officers over the probable benefit of such option. We had also enclosed relevant orders issued by the Department of

Expenditure in 2008 in a similar situation. As no action has been taken so far, we shall be grateful. if you will kindly get the matter examined expeditiously and requisite order issued without further delay-
