Clarification regarding holding of Pension Adalats on Indian Railways. The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has issued a circular (No. E(W)/2023/PA/2) dated 09.10.2023 to all Zonal Railways and Production Units regarding the clarification on holding Pension Adalats on Indian Railways.
The circular addresses queries from Railways regarding the scheduled Pension Adalats on 15th December of the current year. It references Master Circular No. 08/2019 and mentions that Special Pension Adalats had been conducted as per the directives of the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW). The circular reaffirms that Pension Adalats are to be held on 15th December each year by the Railways and Production Units, as per the instructions provided in the aforementioned Master Circular.
The circular concludes by advising Railways and Production Units to take necessary action to organize Pension Adalats if they have not already done so.

Queries are being received from the Railways regarding holding of Pension Adalats on 15th December of current year, as stipulated in the Master Circular No. 08/2019 as Special Pension Adalats were held as per the directives of DoP&PW. In this regard, it may be noted that Pension Adalats are to be held on 15th of December every year by the Railways/PUs, as per instructions contained in aforesaid Master Circular.
2. The Railways/PUs may take necessary action for holding the Pension Adalats if not already initiated.
