Disbursement of Salary/Wages/Pension of Central Government Employees/Pensioners: NPB Date 25.09.2026 and Instructions to Banks issued by CGA. The Controller General of Accounts has issued further instructions regarding timely payment ahead of the nationwide bank strike from 28 to 30 September 2026. PAOs/CDDOs have been advised to upload payment files with NPB date 25.09.2026, while banks have been requested to treat files already carrying NPB date 30.09.2026 as payable on 25.09.2026.

Subject: Disbursement of Salary/wages/Pension of Central Government Employees on account of three days nationwide bank strike from 28.09.2026 to 30.09.2026 – reg.
Reference is invited to Controller General of Accounts OM No. F. No. 03002(2)1/2020/TA-II/(e-3001)/416 dated 23.09.2026 regarding advance disbursement of salary/wages/pension in view of the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from 28.09.2026 to 30.09.2026.
2. In view of the OM dated 23.09.2026, all Pr. CCAs/CCAs/CA’s with independent charge, are advised to issue necessary instruction to all the field PAOs/CDDOs to upload Salary/Wages/Pension payment files of Central Government Employees with NPB date as 25.09.2026 and ensure that same reaches to the banks in time bound manner.
3. Further, PAOs/CDDOs may also be advised to instruct all the concerned banks to not return back the already issued Salary/Wages/Pensions payment files, wherein NPB date of 30.09.2026 has been mentioned. Instead Banks may be requested to read the NPB date of such Payment files as 25.09.2026 in place of 30.09.2026 by using the NPB identifier in Bank’s payment system.
4. All the Accredited Banks are also advised to honour the request of PAOs/CDDOs to effect the payment transactions by 25.09.2026 positively as to facilitate disbursement of salary/wages/pensions in time bound manner.
