The General Secretariest,
All Affiliated Unions, Dear Comrades,

Sub:- Feedback on the meeting with Chairman Railway Board and Member Staff Railway Board on issues FDI, PPP Model, PLB, Running Staff issues & Unmanned Railway Crossings.

I met CRB and Member Staff on 20.08.2014 after returing from ITF Congress -2014 held in Sofia, Bulgaria. I have shown great concern and anguish of Railwaymen on the issues of FDI, PPP, PLB, unmanned Railway Crossings, non functioning of fast track committees & Running Staff committees & other issues of strike ballot.
It was explained by the CRB & MS that they can hold meeting with Federations on short notice on the issues of FDI and PPP. So far issue of Fast Track & Running Staff Committees is concerned they would be made functional soon, for that necessary instructions has already been issued to concerned authorities.
On the issue of unmanned Railway Crossings, CRB ensured that he had moved proposal for creating 9000 posts of Trackmen without matching surrender to man unamanned Railway Crossing & agreed with the proposal of Federation that any shortcut or PPP cannot resolve the problems on safety issues & safety issues can only be resolved by deputing permanent Railway Staff only.
CRB also agreed for discussion on Commercial Circular issued for privatization of PRS and UTS. At the outset he said that “this is not going to harm the existing staff in anyway. CRB was also willing to have open discussion on this issue & wants to allay any fear in the minds of existing staff.
On the issue of PLB he said he wants that staff should get the PLB well before the commencent of Puja.
Though positive assurance has been given by board on all issues, even then we need to continue sustained struggle for the demands of Railwaymen.
Yours faithfully,
(Shiva Gopal Mishra)
General Secretary
