Sub:- Enhancement in Honorarium of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) Consultants under Staff Benefit Fund (SBF), on contract basis.

Attention is invited to Para (vi) of Board’s letter number No. E(W)2016/ISM/3 dated 14.08.2018.

2. The issue regarding enhancement in the amount of honorarium payable to AYUSH Consultants presently engaged by five Zonal Railways, namely, ER, NR, NFR, SR & WR on contract basis in their respective Central Hospitals was under consideration of this Ministry.

3. The matter has been examined in detail and it has now been decided with the approval of Competent Authority that monthly honorarium payable to AYUSH Consultants in the respective Central Hospitals of above five Zonal Railways will be revised to Rs.75,000(Rs. Seventy Five Thousand Only) per month, on the lines of the instructions issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vide their letter No. Pt. F. No. 145-20/2016-17/CGHS/SZ/CGHS-1 dated 04.07.2018.

4, The expenditure on this account is to be met from Staff Benefit Fund. If the amount available in Staff Benefit Fund is inadequate to meet the above expenditure, Railway can invoke the provisions contained in Board’s letter No.E(W)2008/FU-1/2 dated 29.1.2009 as per which SBF Committee functioning in Zonal Railways have been empowered to re-appropriate funds not exceeding 25% of the amount against different heads/activities under SBF except “Education, Sports Activities & Scouts Activities.

5. The aforesaid revision in honorarium will be effective from the date of issue of these orders.

6. This issues in consultation with the Health Directorate and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
