Sub: Accountal of expenditure of treatment of Railway medical beneficiaries.
Ref:- Railway Board’s letter no. 2018/Trans Cell/Health/CGHS dated 16.06.2021.
Please find enclosed Railway Board’s letter cited under reference above, vide point no. 11 there of it has been clarified that the payment of bills of treatment of Railway medical beneficiary in empanelled hospital shall be made by the Railway Unit which had empanelled the hospital, without making any reference or debit etc. to the Railway Unit to which beneficiary belongs.
Accordingly, the accountal of expenditure of treatment of Railway medical beneficiaries will be done by the unit which has empanelled the hospital, irrespective of Railway unit to which beneficiary belongs. The Zonal Railways may project their fund requirement accordingly.
This issues with the concurrence of the Accounts and Finance Directorates of the Ministry of Railways.
