Subject: Reclassification of entitlement of Hospital Accommodation / Bed eligibility under CHSS
The undersigned is directed to refer to the provisions of DAE OM No. 7/16/2016/IRR&W/4909 dated-13/04/2023 on the captioned subject.
The matter of entitlement of hospital accommodation / bed eligibility under CHSS was re-examined by the Apex Governing Body for CHSS in its 5 meeting held on 16/03/2026. The Apex Body recommended the re-classification of entitlement of Hospital accommodation based on Pay Level of the employees. In supersession of the above referred OM dated 13/04/2023, it has been decided to revise the classification of entitlement of hospital accommodation for serving /retired employees as follows:
| Sr. No. | Category of employees according to Pay Level | Class of Accommodation |
| 1 | Upto Level-8 | 4 beds in a room with common toilet / bathroom |
| 2 | From Level-9 to Level-13A | 2 beds in a room with attached toilet / bathroom |
| 3 | Level-14 and above | Single bed AC accommodation as per availability in the referral hospital with attached toilet / bathroom. |
All other provisions regarding entitlement of Hospital accommodation are as indicated in Annexure-1 of CHS Scheme circulated vide DAE OM No. 7/55/94/CHSS/IR&W/37 dated 22/01/1998.
This OM will be effective from the date of its issue.
This issues with the approval of Competent Authority in DAE.
