Sub: Recruitment Rule for the post of Public Prosecutor in Level-7 of 7 CPC Pay Matrix.

In regard to the Recruitment Rules for post of Public Prosecutor in Level-7, it has been decided to insert (XVI) Prosecution Cadre Para 178 B in Chapter-I, Section-B, Subsection-IIIJ- Recruitment and Training into Indian Railways Establishment Manual (IREM), Volume-I (Revised Edition 1989) first Re-Print Edition 2009 as per Advanced Correction Slip No. 275 enclosed.

2. It is also decided that all the officers holding the erstwhile posts of Sub-Inspector (Prosecution) in Level-6 of the pay matrix on regular basis not meeting the eligibility criteria for promotion to the next higher grade of Public Prosecutor which is five years regular service in Level-6 of pay matrix in the post of Sub-Inspector (Prosecution), may be allowed to continue in their present grade till the time the criteria is met.

(XVI) PROSECUTION CADRE

178 B (1): The post of Public prosecutor in level-7 (₹44900-142400, pre-revised GP: ₹4600) of 7th CPC pay matrix will be filled 100% by direct recruitment through the agency of Railway Recruitment Boards.

(2) (a) The educational qualification for direct recruitment from open market are as under:

Graduate with Bachelor degree in Law from a recognized University and with five
years standing as an advocate at Bar.

(b) Age: 18-32 years.
