OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Provision of sign language interpretation support during training programs for Persons with Disabilities- reg.
The undersigned is directed to invite kind attention to the Office Memorandum No. 13013/20/2024-Policydated07.04.2026issuedbytheDepatmentofEmpowermentofpersons with Disabilities (D/o EPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, forwarding therewith the representation dated 27.03.2026 submitted by the All India Central Government Deaf Employees’ Association (AICGDEA), along with the communication/order dated 31.01.2025 issued by the Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD), for appropriate action.
2. Ministries/Departments/Organizations and State/UT Governments across the country are requested to “ensure availability of reasonable accommodation and communication support, including sign language interpreters, wherever required for employees with hearing impairment”.
3. It is also requested to give wide publicity to the above provision amongst attached/subordinate offices, autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings under the aegis of these Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations for information and compliance.
4. This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
