(b) if so, the reasons behind CGHS not issuing medicines prescribed by doctors?

ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA)

(a) & (b) : Medicines are being issued at CGHS Wellness Centres from the approved CGHS formulary which presently consists of 1447 generic and 622 branded medicines and the formularies of ESIC (Employees State Insurance Cooperation) and ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme). Medicines, which are not included in these formularies and not available in dispensaries, when prescribed by Government Doctors are being procured through Local Purchase at the discretion of CMO I/C (Chief Medical Officer In-charge) of the Wellness Centres

Dear Sir, my wife is a psychiatric patient, (case of depression ) she is under going treatment at ECHS / treated by Psychiatrist of MH Secunderabad Telangana, some time back she fell down and became unconscious, i took her to the nearest Govt Empanelled .Hospital (YASHODA HOSPITAL) she was admitted and treated by a Psychiatrist. i reported regarding her emergency admission in Yashodha hospital to my ECHS for necessary action, .the MO i/c didn't agree with the admission and asked me to bear the expenses. i approached ECHS main office CO. he consulted ECHS Delhi and got the reply that in an emergency even Psychiatric patient can be treated at empanelled hospital., accordingly the MO I/C was breafed and the issue was resolved.
my wife was getting the treated in same hospital as an OPD, by the grace of god she was 90% cured in five months by the Yashodha hospital treatment, the ECHS MO I/C stopped her going for a review to Yashodha hospital and asked us to go to MH Psychiatrist, now patients condition has become worse than ever, now she is given 5 types of tablets, whole day she is sleeping, when i wake her up for eating food she is crying not eating her body is swollen up not able to walk, we all are worried she my not live long. during her 5 months treatment she was 90% recovered she was getting treated by 2 tablets, Dr.said from next month she will be taking 1 tablet only
now several times i pleaded with both ECHS MO I/C and the Psychiatrist they are not referring her to Empanelled YashodhaHospital. kindly help and save my wife from this pathetic situation.
