Sub: Holding of Pension Adalats-2026 on Indian Railways.
Ref: Board’s letter No. E(W)2019/PA-1/2 dated 20.08.2019.
As per the extant instructions contained in Master Circular No. 08/2019 dated 20.08.2019 issued vide Board’s letter cited under Ref., Pension Adalats are to be conducted on 15th December every year on the Indian Railways. This year also, Pension Adalats should be held on 15th December 2026 (Tuesday).
2. In compliance to the recommendations of Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law & Justice regarding effectiveness of Pension Adatals, DoP&PW vide their OM No.4/12/2025-P&PW(D)-Part(2)/E-10488 dated 12.05.2026 (copy enclosed), have advised to accord priority to undertake widespread and well-coordinated awareness campaigns, sufficiently in advance of organizing Pension Adalats.
3. It has been emphasized to disseminate the information regarding Pension Adalats through multiple channels, including Pensioners’ Welfare Associations, relevant Government offices and Pension Disbursing Authorities viz. Banks, Post offices, etc. It has also been advised that digital platforms such as official websites, Pension Portals, SMS alerts and Social Media should also be employed in this regard. It is reiterated that Pensioners/Family Pensioners whose grievances are to be taken up for redressal during the Pension Adalat may also be given advance intimation well before the date of Pension Adalat, as already stipulated in para 3.2 and 3.3 of above referred Master Circular No. 08/2019. Further, provisions as contained in letter No. 2026/E(W)/22/01/2 dated 14.08.2026 (copy enclosed) and other provisions in Master Circular No. 08/2019, may also be adhered to.
4. Accordingly, all Zonal Railways/PUs are requested to take necessary action for holding Pension Adalats-2026, in adherence of guidelines/instructions issued from time to time by DoP&PW and reiterated by Railway Board for necessary compliance.
