Expected 7th CPC DA/DR from Jan, 2027 @ 66% or 67%– All-India CPI-IW for the month of Jul, 2026 issued by Labour Bureau on 31.08.2026
The All-India CPI-IW for July 2026 increased by 1.3 points, standing at 153.2 (one hundred fifty-three point two) points. This change in the CPI-IW marks the beginning of the calculation for the expected DA/DR from January 2027 for Central Government employees and pensioners, with the calculation point reaching 64.36% in the first month. The CPI-IW indices for the remaining five months will determine the exact DA/DR figure. If the CPI-IW remains stationary (no change) for the next five months, the DA/DR from January 2027 is projected to reach 66%.
The DA/DR from July 2026 has also been confirmed at 63%, reflecting a 3% increase over the previous rate. As per prevailing practice, this increase is expected to be approved by the Cabinet in September 2026, within the next few days. Central Government employees and pensioners are eagerly awaiting the Cabinet’s approval and the subsequent issuance of the Office Memorandum (OM) by the Department of Expenditure (DoE). This period also falls within the proposed 8th CPC Pay Structure, but the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief from July 2026 and January 2027 will be decided after the implementation of the 8th CPC Pay Structure.
जुलाई 2026 के लिए अखिल भारतीय उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक-औद्योगिक श्रमिक (All-India CPI-IW) में 1.3 अंक की वृद्धि हुई और यह 153.2 (एक सौ तिरपन दशमलव दो) अंक पर रहा। CPI-IW में यह परिवर्तन केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों और पेंशनभोगियों के लिए जनवरी 2027 से संभावित महंगाई भत्ते/महंगाई राहत (DA/DR) की गणना की शुरुआत का प्रतीक है, जिसमें पहले महीने में गणना का बिंदु 64.36% तक पहुंच गया है। शेष पांच महीनों के CPI-IW सूचकांक सटीक DA/DR के आंकड़े का निर्धारण करेंगे। यदि अगले पांच महीनों तक CPI-IW स्थिर (कोई बदलाव नहीं) रहता है, तो जनवरी 2027 से DA/DR के 66% तक पहुंचने का अनुमान है।
जुलाई 2026 से DA/DR भी 63% पर पुष्ट हो गया है, जो पिछली दर के मुकाबले 3% की वृद्धि को दर्शाता है। प्रचलित प्रथा के अनुसार, अगले कुछ दिनों के भीतर सितंबर 2026 में कैबिनेट द्वारा इस वृद्धि को मंजूरी दिए जाने की उम्मीद है। केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारी और पेंशनभोगी कैबिनेट की मंजूरी और उसके बाद व्यय विभाग (DoE) द्वारा कार्यालय ज्ञापन (OM) जारी किए जाने का बेसब्री से इंतजार कर रहे हैं। यह अवधि प्रस्तावित 8वें केंद्रीय वेतन आयोग (CPC) की वेतन संरचना के अंतर्गत भी आती है, लेकिन जुलाई 2026 और जनवरी 2027 से महंगाई भत्ते (Dearness Allowance) और महंगाई राहत (Dearness Relief) का निर्णय 8वें CPC वेतन संरचना के लागू होने के बाद लिया जाएगा।

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) – July, 2026
1. Labour Bureau, an attached office of the M/o Labour & Employment, has been compiling Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets spread over 88 industrially important centres in the country. The index for the month of July, 2026 is being released in this press release.
2. The All-India CPI-IW for July, 2026 increased by 1.3 points and stood at 153.2 points (one hundred fifty-three point two).
3. Year-on-year inflation for the month of July, 2026 stood at 4.57% as compared to 2.66% in July, 2025.
