OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: igotkarmayogi Courses on Right to Information for PIOS/FAAs/Nodal Officers – reg.
The undersigned is directed to refer to the subject cited above and to state that effective implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2005 requires continuous capacity building of Public Information Officers and other officials dealing with RTI matters.
2. In this regard, the courses/training programmes related to RTlavailable on iGoT Karmayogi Platform as specified in enclosed Annexure have been identified for capacity building of PIOs/ FAAs/Nodal Officers. The training shall cover, inter alia, the statutory provisions of the RTI Act, processing and disposal of RTI applications, exemptions and disclosures, transfer of applications, handling of third-party information, appeals, maintenance of records and other relevant aspects of RTI implementation.
3. All Ministries/Departments of the Government of India are, therefore, requested to apprise their PIOs/FAAs/ Nodal Officers functioning under their administrative control about these courses. Ministries/Departments may also advise their newly appointed/designated PIOs to complete the prescribed training at the earliest. Besides, other Officers of the Department may also be encouraged to undergo as many igotkarmayogi – RTI courses as possible.
