Sub: Engagement of Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) – Revised terms and conditions.
Ref: (i) Railway Board’s letter No. 2014/E(GR)II/1/1 dated 13.06.2017.
(ii) Railway Board’s letter No. 2018/Trans.Cell/Health/Medical Issues dated 24.08.2018.
The matter regarding enhancing maximum age limit at the entry level and also the annual terms for engagement of Contract Medical Practitioners was under consideration of this Ministry for quite some time and now following has been decided:
- Entry level age limit of candidates for appointment as Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) has been raised from 53 years to 60 years, with effect from the date of issue of this letter.
- The number of annual terms for engagement of CMPs is enhanced from 12 terms to 20 terms on year to year basis or till attaining the age of 65 years whichever is earlier and each term of engagement shall not exceed more than one year, with effect from the date of issue of this letter.
All other terms and conditions as laid down in Railway Board’s letter No. 96/E(GR)II/9/16 dated 23.02.2000 and as amended from time to time shall remain unchanged.
