Sub: Validity of sports achievements in Volleyball during the period of recognition of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) — regarding.
Ref: Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MoYAS)’s letter dated 29.10.2025 and Order dated 22.04.2026 regarding recognition/suspension of recognition of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) — (Interim Body).
The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MoYAS), vide its letter dated 29.10.2025, had granted conditional recognition with effect from 29.10.2025 to the VFI (Interim Body) as a National Sports Federation for the sport of Volleyball, subject to the conditions stipulated therein.
2. Subsequently, MoYAS vide its Order dated 22.04.2026 suspended the aforesaid conditional recognition of VFI (Interim Body) with effect from 22.04.2026, following revocation of its provisional recognition by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) vide letter dated 21.04.2026.
3. In view of the above, it has been decided that the certificates of sports achievements/medals obtained in the National Volleyball Championships conducted under the aegis of VFI during the period when VFI (Interim Body) was under valid Government recognition, i.e. from 29.10.2025 up to 21.04.2026, shall be considered valid for the purpose of Sports Recruitments, Out of Turn Promotions (OTP), Incentive increments and other admissible sports-related benefits, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed Railway Rules/instructions and other eligibility conditions.
4. All Zonal Railways/Production Units shall ensure compliance with the above decision while processing cases relating to Volleyball sportspersons.
