7% DA announced for Central Govt Employee

The government has hiked the dearness allowance (DA) by a minimum of 7 per cent, benefiting over 50 lakh central government employees and 38 lakh pensioners. The hike will be applicable from July 1, 2011.

Finance Ministry will publish detailed Office Memorandum regarding this issue within this month.

Dearness allowance is revised twice a year, on January 1 and July 1. The relief comes on the back of high retail prices, click here details

This DA hike will be impact in the Transport allowance also, according to the classes of cities (5400 GP and above = Rs.3200 + DA thereon, below 4200 GP = Rs.600 + DA thereon and above 4200 GP = Rs.1600 + DA thereon).
