APPOINTMENT ON CONTRACT BASIS

Will the Minister of PERSONNEL,PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS be pleased to state:-

(a) whether the Government proposes to appoint Group `D` post employees in various Government offices on contract basis; 

(b) if so, the details thereof; and 

(c) the details of the Departments of Central Government where contract appointments are made in Group `D` posts?

ANSWER

Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office. (SHRI V. NARAYANASAMY) 

(a) to (c): After implementation of 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations, the erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts in Central Government stand upgraded to Group ‘C’ posts. Hence no fresh appointments are to be made in the erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts.
