VACCINES INJECTIONS UNDER CGHS

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of the vaccines/injections being provided/included under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS);
(b) whether the Government has any proposal to provide/include some new vaccines/injections including Hepatitis-B under CGHS scheme and if so, the details thereof along with the time by which these vaccines/injections are likely to be provided/ included;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether there is any proposal to allow some health care services including physiotherapy at home to disabled CGHS beneficiaries; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (DR. HARSH VARDHAN)

(a): Following vaccines are available for issue in CGHS:

UNDER UIP –

  • DPT
  • MEASLES
  • OPV
  • MMR
  • HEPATITIS B
  • TYPHOID
  • TT
As a special dispensation following vaccines are also allowed on advise of the specialist Government Doctors in high risk cases:

  • HEPATITIS B
  • LEPROVAC VACCINE
  • INFLUENZA VACCINE
  • ANTI RABBIES VACCINE (POST EXPOSURE)

(b) & (c): No vaccines are admissible under CGHS other than the list mentioned above as a policy decision.

(d) & (e): CGHS has allowed domiciliary rehabilitation for patients who cannot go to hospitals for rehabilitation measures namely: Occupational therapy, Speech therapy and physiotherapy.

These facilities are approved after being evaluated and recommended by the concerned specialists
