Subject:- Constant Attendant Allowance (CAA) Enhancement for Soldiers – reg.
Sir,
I am directed to refer to this Departmentโs letter no. 17(02)/2016-D(Pen/Pol) dated 04.09.2017 regarding revision of provisions regulating Pension/ Gratuity/ Commutation of Pension/ Family Pension including Pensionary Awards notified in terms of Casualty Pensionary Awards in respect of Commissioned Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers & Other Ranks, Retiring or dying in harness on or after 01.01.2016 in implementation of the Government’s decision on the recommendation of the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
2. In terms of Para 12.1 of the aforesaid Ministryโs letter the Constant Attendant Allowance shall continue to be admissible under the condition as hitertofore at the existing rate from 01.01.2016 to 30.06.2017. However, it shall be admissible at the uniform rate of Rs. 6750/- per month, irrespective of the rank with effect from 01.07.2017.
3. Department of Expenditure vide their OM No. 1/1/2024-E-II(B) dated 12.03.2024 has issued instructions regarding enhancement of Dearness Allowance Rates from 46% to 50% of the Basic Pay with effect from 1st January, 2024. Accordingly, DoP&PW vide its O.M No. 1/5/2024-P&PW/(F)-9809 dated 18.09.2024 and 03.10.2024 has directed all the Ministries/Departments to enhance the amount of CAA by 25% from the existing Rs. 6750/- to Rs. 8438/- per month w.e.f 01.01.2024.
4. Accordingly, as per the Governmentโs decision in implementation of the recommendation of the 7th CPC, the amount of Constant Attendant Allowance is enhanced by 25% from the existing Rs. 6750/- to Rs.8438/- per month w.e.f 01.01.2024.
5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Division of this Ministry vide their ID Note No. 30(01)/2025/fad/URM dated 18.03.2025.
