Expected DA/DR from Jul, 2025 @ 58% – All-India CPI-IW for the month of May, 2025 issued by Labour Bureau dated 30.06.2025
The All-India CPI-IW for May 2025 increased by 0.5 points and stood at 144.0 (one hundred forty-four). Following three consecutive months of decline, this rise in the last three months of the CPI-IW indicates that the expected Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief (DA/DR) for Central Government Employees and Pensioners from July 2025 is projected to be 58.08% for the fifth month. The CPI-IW index for the remaining one month will provide the definitive figure for DA/DR for July 2025. Currently, the calculation process, along with expectations for the half-yearly increase in DA/DR, is in its final steps.
अखिल भारतीय CPI-IW मई 2025 के लिए 0.5 अंक बढ़कर 144.0 (एक सौ चौवालिस) पर पहुंच गया। तीन लगातार महीनों की गिरावट के बाद, CPI-IW के पिछले तीन महीनों में इस वृद्धि से संकेत मिलता है कि जुलाई 2025 से केंद्रीय सरकारी कर्मचारियों और पेंशनरों के लिए अपेक्षित महंगाई भत्ता/महंगाई राहत (DA/DR) पांचवें महीने के लिए 58.08% होने की संभावना है। शेष एक महीने के लिए CPI-IW सूचकांक जुलाई 2025 के लिए DA/DR का निश्चित आंकड़ा प्रदान करेगा। वर्तमान में, DA/DR में आधे वार्षिक वृद्धि की अपेक्षाओं के साथ, गणना प्रक्रिया अपने अंतिम चरण में है।

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) – May, 2025
1. Labour Bureau, an attached office of the M/o Labour & Employment, has been compiling Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets spread over 88 industrially important centres in the country. The index for the month of May, 2025 is being released in this press release.
2. The All-India CPI-IW for May, 2025 increased by 0.5 point and stood at 144.0 (one hundred forty four).
3. Year-on-year inflation for the month of May, 2025 stood at 2.93% as compared to 3.86% in May, 2024.
