Expected DA/DR from Jul, 2026 @ 63%– All-India CPI-IW for the month of Jan, 2026 issued by Labour Bureau on 27.02.2026
The All-India CPI-IW for January 2026 increased by 0.4 points and stands at 148.6 (one hundred forty-eight point six). This change in the CPI-IW marks the beginning of the calculation for the expected DA/DR from July 2026 for Central Government employees and pensioners, with the calculation point reaching 60.85% in the first month. The CPI-IW indices for the remaining five months will determine the exact DA/DR figure for July 2026. If the CPI-IW remains stationary (no change) for the next five months, the DA/DR from July 2026 is projected to reach 63%.
The DA/DR from January 2026 has also been confirmed at 60%, reflecting a 2% increase over the previous rate. As per prevailing practice, this increase is expected to be approved by the Cabinet in March 2026 within the next few days. Central Government employees and pensioners are eagerly awaiting the Cabinet’s approval and the subsequent issuance of the Office Memorandum (OM) by the Department of Expenditure (DoE).
