Sub: Discontinuation of practice of presenting Gold plated Silver Medals to retiring Railway officials.

(ii) Board’s letters No. E(W)/2006/WE-5/1 dated 18.01.2008.

In supersession of Board’s letters cited under reference, it has now been decided with the approval of the President that the practice of presenting Gold plated Silver Medals to retiring Railway officials may be discontinued. The Silver Medals, which are already procured/available in stock with Railways, may be accounted for and suitably used for other activities, redressing their utilization concerns. All concerned may take necessary action in this regard.

2. These orders come into force with immediate effect.
