Re-Employment to Ex-Servicemen

Ministry of Defence 13-August, 2012

Central Government provides 10% reservation for Ex- servicemen in civil jobs in Group `C` posts and 20% in Group `D` posts. Most State Governments provide reservation for Ex-servicemen which varies from State to State as it is based on the total population of Ex- servicemen domiciled in
the State and the rehabilitation policy of the concerned State. It is the responsibility of the concerned Government to implement the reservation policy. Since applying for Government jobs by Ex-servicemen is voluntary, data in this regard is not maintained.
This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Shri MM PallamRajuin a written reply to Shri Anurag Singh Thakur in Lok Sabha today.

chhattisgarh govt is not giving exserviceman quota in gp- c and d post, why?

  • Anonymous 12 years ago

Reservation for Ex-servicemen is restricted to group C & D Posts, why not for group A & B also. Because the minimum entry level qualification in the defence service is matriculation and the minimum entry level qulaification in civil for group C posts are also matric.

At present Ex-servicemen can utilise the ex-servicemen quota only once in life time for seeking employment in civil job. While SC/ST/OBC/PHC/SPORTS etc can utilise the same throughout their life. Why this difference. Is this what they get for serving nation? This must be resolved.
