FACILITIES IN POST OFFICES

Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:-
(a) whether all the Post Offices have been provided with the facilities of E-mail, Internet and Computers in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise including Madhya Pradesh;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor and the steps taken by the Government in this regard;
(d) whether the Government has any proposal for re-opening of certain closed Post Offices; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government in this regard?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & LAW AND JUSTICE (SHRI RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD)
(a) All the 25,145 departmental post offices have been provided with computer facilities. E-mail and Internet facilities have been provided in 24,465 departmental post offices.
(b) State-wise details of Post Offices provided with the facilities of E-mail, Internet and Computers including Madhya Pradesh is annexed (Annexure-‘A’). *As above*
