Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:-

(a) the names of the States in which the branches of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) are situated in the country;

(b) whether the Government proposes to set up more branches of BRO in the country;

(d) whether the BRO has launched any road project in the State of Andhra Pradesh; and

(e) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a) The names of the States in which 18 Projects of BRO are situated in the country are as under:

(iv) Chetak Punjab, Rajasthan
(v) Dantak Assam, West Bengal
(vi) Deepak Himachal Pradesh
(vii) Himank Jammu & Kashmir
(viii) Pushpak Manipur, Mizoram
(ix) Rohtang Tunnel Himachal Pradesh
(x) Sampark Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab
(xi) Setuk Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar Islands
(xii) Sewak Nagaland, Manipur
(xiii) Shivalik Uttarakhand
(xiv) Special Task Force, Hirak Uttarakhand
(xv) Swastik West Bengal, Sikkim
(xvi) Udayak Assam, Arunachal Pradesh
(xvii) Vartak Assam, Arunachal Pradesh
(xviii) Vijayak Jammu & Kashmir

(b) & (c): At present there is no proposal to set up more branches of BRO in the country.

(d) & (e): BRO has no road project in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
