A copy of Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW)’s O.M. No. 57/05/2021-P&PW(B)/Compassionate/10593 dated 22.06.2026 is enclosed for information and compliance. These instructions shall apply mutatis mutandis on Railways also. The CCS (Pension) Rules, 2021 correspond to Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 2026. DoP&PW’s O.M. No. 57/05/2021-P&PW(B) dated 03.03.2023 has been adopted on Railways vide this office letter of even number dated 10.03.2023.

CGA ADMISSIBLE ON THE DEATH OF EMPLOYEE. BUT AS PER THE LETTER AN APPLICATION FOR CGA IS DETERMINING FACTOR. SUPPOSE AN EMPLOYEE EXPIRED PRIOR TO 31/12/2003 & HIS WARDS BECOMES ELIGIBLE FOR CGA, BUT COULDN’T APPLY BEFORE 31/12/2003 DUE TO VARIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES HE LOSSES OPS. THIS IS JUST INDIRECT DENYING THE CGA.
