The proposal for enhancement of powers of General Managers to sanction expenditure on deputation of Railway employees for training courses, seminars, symposia in recognized non-Railway institutions has been examined in Board’s office and it has now been decided by Board (MF) to enhance the powers of General Managers of Zonal Railway and Production Units. Accordingly, Para No. A(IV)(3) of Schedule of Powers issued vide letter under reference (i) above and subsequently modified vide letter under reference (ii), has further been amended to read as under:
Para No. A(IV) (3):
“the sanction of expenditure on deputation of Railway employees for training courses, seminars, symposia in recognized non-Railway institutions in excess of Rs.2.00 crore in a year for Zonal Railways and Rs.1 crore in a year for Production Units. General Managers can sanction expenditure upto Rs.1 lakh per course per person within the above ceiling limit.”
These enhanced powers will be exercised by General Managers personally and the training content and its utility may be certified by the concerned PHOD.
