The General Manager (P),
All Zonal Railways/PUs.
Sub: Absorption of Medically De-categorized Staff in alternative posts- Compliance of Board’s instructions dt.30.06.2003.
The All India Railwaymen Federation (AIRF) has drawn the attention of Railway Board towards the issue regarding that medically decategorized staff are being posted in Ministerial cadre of other departments without adhering to the existing guidelines. In this regard the federation has quoted that they have received numerous representations across the divisions of SWR from Ministerial staff stating that due to the absorption of Medical decategorized running staff and SM’s in the cadre of Chief OS & OS the promotional prospects are getting blocked and their future is uncertain.
2. In this regard, attention of Railways is drawn towards Board’s instructions dated 30.06.2003 (RBE No.112/2003) wherein it has been clearly stipulated that serious efforts should be made to find alternative employment for medically decategorised staff in other wings of the same department in posts carrying appropriate lower medical classification, and only when it is not possible to do so, the employees should be considered for absorption in other departments.
3. Accordingly, the instructions issued vide Board’s letter dt.30.06.2003( RBE 112/2003) are hereby reiterated for strict compliance by the Railways.
