LEAVE BENEFITS TO AIR INDIA EMPLOYEES

Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-

(a) whether the Child Care Leave/Maternity Leave is available to the women employees of Air India on the lines of Central Government employees;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether it is a fact that Child Care Leave/Maternity Leave applied by women employees have not been sanctioned by Air India during the past few years;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and

(e) the steps taken or proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

ANSWER

Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Siddeshwara)

(a) and (b): Yes, Madam. Permanent female employees with less than two surviving children are eligible for grant of Maternity Leave with full pay, which may extend upto 135 days. There is no provision of child care leave in Service Regulations of Air India.;

(c): No, Madam. ;

(d) & (e): Do not arise in view of (c) above.;
